She is a Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Maryland and became an Accredited Bowenwork Practitioner in October 2008. She completed the Specialized Procedures I certification in March 2013. Wendy is in the process of completing the Specialized Procedures II Bowenwork training. She began the this journey in July 2013.
Since she began her practice, she looked for a manual therapy that would provide long lasting results. Bowenwork is a very gentle, non-invasive way to help the body to relax and release tension–relieving pain in just a few sessions.
How I Work
After giving a health history, a client is made comfortable on a table or in a chair. A series of gentle moves through light clothing or on skin are made with appropriate pauses in between. The client is allowed to rest as needed. A session may last anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes.
Each person responds differently, according to their own body’s ability to heal. Bowenwork® is completely safe for everyone of all ages. While there are certain contraindications for specific moves, there are no conditions that would keep a person from receiving Bowenwork®.
After the session has concluded; some noticeable changes might be reduced pain, greater range of motion, and a sense of relaxation and wellbeing. You will most likely notice changes over the next several days as your body continues to adjust. Increased energy and sounder sleep are often benefits.
